When will the antichrist be revealed?
I came across a message by Pastor Greg Laurie. So many pastors in America believe they are also a prophet. They believe being a pastor qualifies them with prophetic revelation and the anointing to discern the prophetic Word of God. Here's part of what he said:
"But who will the antichrist be? While this was the title of the message, 'I have no idea who the antichrist will be, and nor does anyone else,' Laurie told the congregation, advising them not to waste their time in speculating."
What he is saying here is not Scriptural. He says what is traditionally accepted. But what did Jesus say about tradition and men who copy one another, handing it down from one generation to the next?:
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. (Mark 7:13)
Here is what the Word of God says about the revelation of the antichrist:
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him (at the Rapture),
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ (Jesus appearing in the Rapture) is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the catching away) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3)
Plainly, they were troubled in thinking that Jesus had already come and taken away the elect.
Plainly, it states that the Rapture will not happen until two things happen first:
1. a falling away from the faith (which has happened and is happening now)
2. the man of sin revealed
Don't let the traditions of men's teaching choke the Word of God in any way or any area.
Consider this carefully and prayerfully:
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (1 John 2:27)
