Isaiah 47 - A Study of the daughter of Babylon
The first verse of Isaiah 47 shows that this chapter is not talking about ancient Babylon but the "virgin daughter of Babylon", a different nation with similar characteristics. The Lord is speaking to the women in judgment. Verse two is clear this is a nation whose women have bared their heads, their legs and their thighs. This could not be about Muslim women as they are covered head to toe, with a few exceptions of no head covering.

1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
The Lord is taking away the honor and position that the "virgin daughter of Babylon" has had. He is bringing about a harsh judgment upon her that will affect her forever.

13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
You have had an endless array of teachers, advisors and forecasters. See if they can save you from the judgment that shall come upon you.
14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

You will have no one to help you, not even those who have treaties with you. Everyone will scatter when you are attacked and return to their own countries.
